What is IM JAPAN?

The IM JAPAN program is a program resulting from collaboration between the Indonesian government's Ministry of Manpower and the International Manpower Development Organization, Japan (IM Japan).

Requirements for Prospective IM JAPAN Students

Special Conditions
  • Man

  • For Technical Vocational Schools, the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 26 years during the selection test.

  • For high school students, the minimum age is 18 years 6 months and the maximum age is 26 years at the time of the selection test.

  • Not color blind (total/partial), and wear glasses/contact lenses

  • No tattoos or tattoo marks

  • No piercings or scars

IM JAPAN Program Advantages
  • Participants will receive complete facilities, including housing during the training and selection period.

  • Intern participants will receive a salary, with minimum wage standards per prefecture in Japan.

Apprenticeship Duration

The apprenticeship program in Japan is implemented for 3 years and can be extended up to 5 years which consists of several stages, namely:

  1. The first month of the apprenticeship program in Japan is called the training period or Jisshusei period, which means "training while working". Participants are still practicing adjustments at the Training Center.

  2. From the 2nd month to the 12th month, their competency will be evaluated, and to proceed to the next stage, participants must pass the exam which is held at the end of the first year.

  3. The 2nd to 3rd month apprenticeship program is called Technical Intern training or also called the Jisshusei period. During the Jisshusei period, participants were protected by the Labor Law in Japan and were allowed to work overtime.

  4. This apprenticeship program can be extended to 5 years, if the company and participants agree to extend the work practice period.
